About Annette:
Although a Tasmanian Resident for ten years, Annette Mummery was born
in the Central Victorian Goldfields city of Bendigo. As she went to high school
at Myrtleford in north Victoria, and her family lived in Papua New Guinea, it
is not surprising that many of her early years were spent travelling between
Australia and P.N.G.
Annette has been painting for eight years, and for the past five or six has
been involved in a number of workshops and courses. These have included watercolour
classes with Marie collins, workshops with Terry Gough, Life Drawinging with
Paul Westbury at the Brian Chandler School of Art and a workshop with tony Smibert.
In the mid 1990's, she won a number of commendations in the Not Yet Famous exhibitions.
In 1997 and again in 1998, she showed at the Lady Franklin Gallery, in 1998
won third prize in the Battery Point Art Show and in 1999 was fourth in the
Derwent Valley Open Art Award.
Annette's work is already in private collections in a diverse range of locations,
including New York, Oklahoma, Italy, Western Australia, Victoria and of course
Tasmania.
